Cameron McNeish is one of the UK's best known authorities on outdoor recreation. A mountaineer, hillwalker, backpacker and bikepacker Cameron was editor of The Great Outdoors magazine for over 20 years and is a frequent presenter of Scottish outdoor television programmes. He now writes a monthly column in The Scots Magazine. Come By The Hills is his 21st book.

Richard Else has been Cameron's television producer for 25 years and was the main who persuaded the reclusive Alfred Wainwright to appear on television. Since then Richard has gone to a direct a host of award-winning television series including The Edge: 100 Years of Scottish Mountaineering, Wilderness Walks, Great Climbs and The Adventure Show.
