Tomorrow's Warriors Junior band is one of our flagship ensembles featuring some of the most promising young jazz musicians currently enrolled on our Young Artist Development Programme. Our Junior Band usually meets each week at Southbank Centre, London where Tomorrow's Warriors has an ongoing residency. Mentored by their music leader and Warriors alumnus, Ben Burrell the Junior Band has performed live in various Tomorrow's Warriors showcases, including on various stages at Southbank Centre and at Union Chapel, Islington.

The Junior Band had been working on their own arrangement of Wayne Shorter's 'Footprints' just prior to the COVID-19 lockdown but, not wanting all their hard work go to waste, they continued to collaborate online both during and outside of their weekly development sessions on Zoom.

We can't wait to get back to performing live again soon we can hear them play this in real time!

The band says: "’Footprints’ is a well-known jazz standard by the great American saxophonist, Wayne Shorter. As a band we are all into this tune and, as jazz musicians, wanted to use our collective creativity to give our original take on it, giving it a funk groove, and make our mark on it as a band."
