Alex Tait holds the position of The Geographer at the National Geographic Society. He heads the Map Policy Committee that determines geopolitical guidance for all of National Geographic on boundaries, disputed areas, place names and other geographic data. He provides mapping and geography expertise for the impact initiatives at the Society, including the Pristine Seas, Okavango Wilderness, and Beyond Yellowstone Projects. And he serves as a consultant to the Geographic Education team in its efforts to promote excellence in the teaching of geography.
