Jungle Owlet
Jungle Owlet and Barred Jungle Owlet (Glaucidium radiatum) means the same. Due to presence of scales on its body, we called it barred jungle owlet. They have been placed in “least concerned” category due to their healthy population and sighting over a large part of India. They are small in size with brownies body and white bars. Given video is from Kanha national park, Khatia buffer zone forest. They are often seen in scrubbed woodlands and moist deciduous forest. They are most active in dawn and dusk thus sighting probability will be high during these hours of visit.
