After evaluating & initial fault fnding in part 1 the replacement PLL chip arrived from Taiwan. After installation there were other faults to sort out. The biggest snag was a faulty meter. I finally found one to fit from a very scrap DNT M40 & was able to dismantle it & swap the Uniden scale into the DNT meter. After full re-alignment the set works fine. RF output on this one ended up at 3.6W (3.1W as it came). This is about normal for these sets.....and most new sets too & makes so little different to actual range anyway.
