Roca Vecchia is a village on the coast of Melendugno, between San Foca and Torre dell'Orso. Its great importance in the archaeological area is connected with the discovery of Messapic inscriptions (but also Latin and Greek) on the walls from the 11th to the 13th century, from which one could see that the grotto was once a place of worship of the god Taotor. In addition to the archaeological site Roca is characterized by its natural beauty, its crystal clear sea and its rocky coastline.
