The 11th Summit of the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation was successfully held today at the Presidential Palace, in the New Capital Cairo, Egypt, under the theme "Investing in Youth and Supporting SMEs: Shaping Tomorrow's Economy." The Summit was hosted by the Presidency of the Arab Republic of Egypt and chaired by His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, who assumed the D-8 Chairmanship from Bangladesh. The event marked a historic milestone in the D-8's mission to foster economic development and cooperation among its Member States.
The Summit welcomed the Heads of State and Government of the D-8 Member Countries—Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Türkiye. Special guests included the President of Palestine, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Secretary-General of the Arab League, and the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt.
