Though British born, Rosamund Illing was happily adopted as a leading Australian soprano. Her operatic roles cover a wide spectrum of composers - including Mozart, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Poulenc, Leoncavallo and Lehar. Here she sings the opening aria of Elvira in Verdi's ERNANI - in a mightily impressive performance - recorded in concert in 1993.
