Ultima Thule was often described by ancient geographers as the northernmost point of the world. A land said to lie beyond the edge of the map, where the seas turn treacherous and the skies dance with eternal auroras, is a place that eludes discovery, its very existence questioned. Ancient mariners spoke of towering ice cliffs and rivers of liquid light, while others whispered of a civilization untouched by time, guarding secrets that could unravel the fabric of the known world. Some believe Ultima Thule holds the remnants of an advanced society, while others claim it is a gateway to another realm. Many have tried to find Ultima Thule throughout history, though its exact location—or even its existence—remains a mystery. The ancient Greek explorer Pytheas of Massalia, in the 4th century BCE, first documented the term after venturing far north beyond Britain, claiming to have reached a strange and distant land where the sea turned into a “gelatinous mass.” Later medieval scholars and cartographers placed Ultima Thule at the edge of their maps, often representing it as a mystical or unreachable place beyond the Arctic Circle. 🌊
