The Bohemia X 30 is the smallest wood and multifuel stove in our range and has recently been updated to incorporate the latest clean burn technology to make this already successful small stove burn even better than the standard model!
The new technology incorporates a fully skamolex lined fire chamber, twin baffle system with the lower one made from Skamolex, stainless steel tertiary air diffuser that injects pre-heated air into the fire chamber to burn off the hydro-carbons produced during the burning cycle. The stove now burns so clean that it has been approved by Defra for use in smoke control zones applicable from Oct 2010.
Efficiencies are in the region of 80% and CO levels are around 0.12%.
We have taken the standard Bohemia and made further improvement which includes: adjustable feet, bolt on flue collar and the removal of the fixing bolts on the convector top plate which was occasionally commented on.
This Bohemia X 30 stove has been designed to fit into a standard 16" x 22" opening and will take a minimum 12" log length giving a very useful 3-4KW of heat output. The stove is designed to burn both wood and smokeless fuel and will appear on the Hetas register as an approved stove for both these fuel types.
Top or rear flue connection is available.
The video starts with the stove burning with both air controls shut, ticking over nicely. We then increase the primary air (lower slider) which causes the fire to blaze, and then we increase the secondary air all the way which increases the fire to its maximum flames and output. We then shut the primary air down which reduces the air and slows the fire, and then the secondary air is shut to about 50% slowing down the fire further.
If you look closely you will see a ribbon of air at the back of the stove.....this is the preheated tertiary air that is being driven into the fire, burning off the hydrocarbons and giving a very clean burn and keeping the glass clean.
Finally the top air is shut all the way which causes the fire to go into tickover mode.
Note that because the stove has been Defra approved for smokeless zones, it cannot be shut down all the way to a slumber level. This is because slumbering causes soot (unburnt particulates) to be generated and sent up the chimney and into the atmosphere. This would therefore not comply with the Defra requirements.
A lovely small stove that burns extremely well, with a wonderful view of the fire through its large glass window and is suitable for either a traditional room or a contemporary setting.
