This video explains what the gas piston bushing is and what it is used for. The gas piston bushing is recommended when using a gas piston kit. Two popular companies with gas piston kits are Superlative Arms and Adams Arms. Both kits will work with our upper receivers. (The Adams Arms piston kit does not work with our hand guards.)
If you are running a direct impingement (normal gas block and gas tube) or a blowback (pistol caliber) system, then you do not need the gas piston bushing.
