I had the wonderful opportunity to talk with the stupendously talented Gavin Creel last spring 2023 ahead of the traveling production of Into the Woods' stop in Philadelphia. Gavin was so thoughtful, eloquent and generous - he gave me so much of his time to talk about Into the Woods, his original "concert-sical" Walk on Through, and his beloved role as Bill in the Eloise movies. I never posted this full interview because I didn't think I seemed very poised in it (I've been a fan since I was a teenager, so I was not chill about this), but in light of Gavin's passing, I rewatched it and was so taken with how kind and warm he was and I don't care how I come across because any Gavin fans should be able to see him speak so passionately about the things he loved.
