Amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the budget sessions of the Parliament will be held with staggered timing by Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The Covid-19 protocol will be strictly followed during the session. Several relaxations are expected to be announced by the government in the Union Budget 2022. As the protocol, President Ram Nath Kovind’s joint address to both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will flag of the Budget session on January 31, 2022.
he Finance Minister’s budget speech will take place on February 1, 2022. This year, the budget session of the Indian Parliament will be conducted in two parts. The first phase will be held from February 1 to February 11, followed by the second phase from March 14 to April 8. The scheduled time of the budget speech is 11 am. The address could go on from anywhere between 1.5 to 2 hours.
Taxpayers expect that Budget 2022 will provide reduction in tax rates and surcharges, increase in deduction available under section 80C, increase in housing loan repayment exemption, relief on dividend taxation, rationalization of capital gains across different classes of assets, removal of securities transaction tax, removal of GST on services availed by the common man etc.
