Hundreds of Muslims held a procession in Nebi Moussa on the
border with Jericho on Friday (21/4) and marched to an old mosque
where they believe Moses is buried. The mosque will be open to
Palestinians until Sunday. It is the first time Palestinians have
been able to visit the sacred site since the Israeli occupation in
1967. Israel and the PLO agreed during peace talks that Nebi
Moussa would stay under Israeli rule, but would be open to
Palestinians during Easter. In the old city of Jerusalem, meanwhile, Greek Orthodox followers celebrated their Good Friday with a procession
from the gate of the Patriarch to the Church of the Holy
Sepulchre.
