In this video I'm showing you how to install an AMD AM5 CPU (in this case the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X desktop processor). With AM5 motherboards, AMD has moved to LGA (land grid array) design style. This means the pins are now on the motherboard, rather than the CPU. So you need to be careful when installing the CPU in the motherboard so that you don't damage the pins, otherwise you'll wreck it.
So here I'm showing you how to install the CPU and things you need to do in terms of alignment of the CPU before installation. Watch out for the notches on the top and bottom of the CPU as well as the golden triangle on the corner. This will show you the alignment with the socket on the motherboard. You'll likely find the triangle indicator in the corner of the motherboard to show you where to place that same corner on the CPU. On this Asus motherboard, the CPU installs the right way up. Take care when lowering it in.
Also be careful not to take the cover off before taking the latch off and raising the housing. This helps protect the motherboard. I'd recommend keeping that cover in case you ever want to uninstall the CPU and maybe sell or return the motherboard in future.
Other things to note:
AMD AM5 motherboards ONLY support DDR5 RAM, so you'll need to upgrade your RAM probably
AMD CPU coolers that fit AM4 may work, but NOT if you have to remove the backplate to install them.
Here I am showing you how to install the AMD AM5 setup for an all-in-one cooler. This requires removing the pre-installed brackets above and below the CPU in order to then install stand off screws that will pop down in their place. You can then mount the cooler on top of that with relative ease. This is MUCH easier than AM4 frankly.
