Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to introduce the 2024 Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé in the United States, representing a notable upgrade in their lineup. This two-door vehicle skillfully combines the sporty feel of the C-Class with the comfort and prestige of the E-Class. It offers a fresh perspective on the entry-level performance coupé, appealing to those who desire both luxury and high performance.

At the core of this coupé is the AMG-enhanced M256M 3.0-liter inline-six engine. This turbocharged engine delivers 443 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, with a temporary boost up to 443 pound-feet for short spurts. Mercedes-Benz claims the CLE 53 can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just four seconds, with a top speed capped at 155 miles per hour.

The engine features several significant upgrades, including redesigned combustion chambers, new inlet and outlet channels, improved piston rings, and a better injection system. It also has a larger turbocharger that increases boost pressure to 22 pounds per square inch and includes an electric auxiliary compressor. Moreover, the engine is equipped with a second-generation integrated starter generator, which is a key part of the car's 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

The AMG SpeedShift TCT nine-speed automatic transmission manages power delivery to the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. The car has impressive braking capabilities, with 14.6-inch front brakes with four-piston calipers and slightly smaller 14.2-inch rear brakes.

One of the standout features of the CLE 53 is its standard rear-axle steering. At low speeds, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels to improve maneuverability. At higher speeds, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels to enhance stability.

The CLE 53's design is eye-catching, with wider front and rear fenders that give it a broader stance. The front features the distinctive Panamericana grille flanked by LED headlights, while the rear end boasts four round tailpipes and two-part LED taillights connected by a dark red strip. The standard wheels are 19 inches, with 20-inch options available.

Customization options include the AMG Performance Studio Package, which offers improved aerodynamics and styling, as well as AMG Night and Carbon Fiber packages. Inside, the car features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a separate 11.9-inch infotainment screen. Standard upholstery includes MB-Tex/microfiber with red stitching, with various leather options available. An AMG Performance Seat package adds sportier seats with enhanced ventilation.
