“Eyes shut, ears open”: Under this motto, the special exhibition “Sound of Stuttgart” became the urban science centre for the sound of the city. At various interactive stations, visitors were invited to experience acoustic phenomena around the sense of hearing and thus find out what structure-borne sound means, learn how noise and anti-noise can cancel each other out, or explore what various Stuttgart city locations sound like during the day and at night.
Client: StadtPalais – Museum for Stuttgart, Germany
Design: jangled nerves gmbh, Stuttgart, Germany; Klangerfinder GmbH & Co KG, Stuttgart, Germany
The sound exhibition was awarded a Red Dot: Best of the Best in the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2019. The video is part of the special exhibition “Analogue, Digital, Interactive: World’s Best Communication Design Awarded by Red Dot” in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen.
