In a video I posted a while back I talked about how a lot of songwriters and creatives in general tend to think that they have to "wait" for inspiration. While you can't always force it, you can get yourself into a meditative, creative state and sooner or later you'll probably get some food creations out of it. The more you do it, the more in tune you will find yourself.
