The bridge that China is constructing over the Pangong Tso Lake is now nearing its completion. Latest high-resolution satellite images show that Chinese have already built 8 metres wide and over 400 metres long bridge. The bridge is connects the North and South banks of the Pangong Tso and is located 25 km ahead of LAC in Chinese held territory. China has begun construction on many roads in the adjacent highlands, all of which will eventually connect to the bridge, adding to India’s concern. As per geospatial intelligence researcher - Damien Symon the bridge appears to strengthen the idea of permanency being established by Beijing in the region, committing to its territorial claims with India by modifying unforgiving the landscape in its favour. When completed, the bridge will offer India's eastern neighbour a significant advantage in a region that has been on the boil for most of 2020, until the two countries eventually consented to remove battle-ready soldiers in February last year. Why is China in such a hurry to finish the bridge construction even during harsh winters? Watch to find out.
