Pollyanna dropped me off this morning at the Height of Lands parking area and we said our goodbyes. She completed her Maine AT miles yesterday so she is heading down to Massachusetts & then NY to finish up some miles missed when her knee was acting up last year. I love hiking with her. She will be missed and thought of often as I finish my Maine miles. Best wishes, Pollyanna!!

Although today’s hike looked easy on the map, there were still some decent climbs and descents and there were LOTS of ups and downs with very little flat. This trail had variety and parts of it reminded me of the 100 mile wilderness. There were 5 ponds, non-stop roots, and many wooden step logs to get over the wet marshy areas. No moose sighting yet but I continue to see their droppings.

I did stop at an urgent care center today to have them look at my eye. I must have gotten bit by something on Saturday as my eye lid and area around my eye continues to be puffy and itchy. I’ll be applying a antibiotic ointment and a steroid cream a couple of times a day to see if it gets better.
