So after a very long wait not helped by covid 19 I have finally got my first ever sculpture fitted at Mangotsfield on the site where the old primary school used to sit, which has now been developed by Cotswold Homes.
I finished this commission at the end of the year last year and it has been staring at me in my workshop ever since. The workshop will feel empty without it now but its looks fantastic in its new home and I hope it is enjoyed by all the residents and passers by.
In true mainstone carving fashion I have put this video together of the making of the sculpture from a 2.5ton block of Portland basebed limestone supplied by Albion Stone Plc. The material is fantastic to work with and the end result looks brilliant.
