Hello and welcome to my subscribers and to those who have visited my channel to view my latest video. Summer was drawing to a close and with Autumn & Winter is just around the corner,
on Wednesday evening on 28th August, I visited Eastleigh Station.
Wow I honestly say I had epic time there, and was a real blessing.
What I’m good at nowadays is just simply been at the right place at the right time.
I caught a heck lot of fantastic tractions,such as Class 66 & 70 Freights, Class 73 - 73963 ( Janice ) & 73962 ( Dick Mabbutt with Network Rail Measurement coaches, & GBRF 69. Also I capture plenty of SWR Desiros, 158 DMU, Cross Country Voyagers 220 & 221, GWR 158 Portsmouth - Cardiff service which was been divided via Eastleigh & Southampton Airport for some reason, possibly line was blocked on Swanwick line.
Station itself hasn’t changed much since my last visit and it never fails to disappoint, got lots of fantastic views on both ends, view vantage points on Platform 2 & 3 are much better as you can clearly of the view of the line ahead.
And you will see plenty of Planes coming to land at Southampton Airport.
Eastleigh Yard is next to the station where you see light locomotives and shunting movements.
Facilities are pretty good as you have a waiting room on Platform 2 and 3.
I think there is a little Coffee House in the Booking Hall, situated near the toilets if I’m not mistaken.
Overall fantastic station, will definitely come back again in near future.
