The little town of Glastonbury in Somerset, England puts on its annual Beltane Festival.
The First of May will always see the town swell as several thousand people throng to the town cross to see the celebrations at noon. There is singing and dancing, drumming, and poems. There are dragons and beasts, as many dress in wonderful costumes for the occasion. And not forgetting the May Queen and her handsome suitor as they lead the procession that carries the Maypole up the high street where it is erected on the slopes of Glastonbury Tor. Fires are lit and much merriment is had as couples jump the fire in handfasting ceremonies as they pledge their undying love for each other.
Are you in the crowd? We’ve tried to catch as many faces as we can. Try and spot yourself or a friend or relative as they follow the throng up the High Street.
