Follow the progress of a 34 square metre off-grid cabin being built in the forested mountains overlooking the Hunter Valley, a few hours north of Sydney; a stylish modern cabin designed and built by an experienced builder/architect, using readily-available standard-sized materials for ease of construction and to minimise cost and waste.

Detailed construction drawings, including a comprehensive materials order, list will be available once the prototype is completed, hopefully by the end of January 2025.

The materials order list is organised so that it can be easily quoted on by building suppliers such as Bunnings, who can deliver the entire cabin in one truckload of materials and components, making it essentially a kit home.

The total cost including plumbing, electrical, bathroom, and kitchen fit-out is expected to be around AUD$35,000 plus about 4 weeks labour.
