Mass graves discovered in Syria have revealed a horrifying state-run "machinery of death" under Bashar al-Assad’s regime, according to top international war crimes prosecutor Stephen Rapp. Rapp visited several mass grave sites near Damascus and other locations, where he estimates over 100,000 people were tortured and murdered since 2013. Satellite imagery and testimonies from witnesses indicate that large-scale digging and mass burials occurred in these areas. The graves highlight extrajudicial killings, with families still seeking answers. The Assad regime has repeatedly denied such violations.
