Müller's maneuver is commonly performed as an outpatient procedure in a patient suspected having obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. Flexible scope is passed through the nose (after topical decongestant spray) and the anatomic collapse particularly at the soft palate -velopharyngeal isthmus and tongue base being assessed by having induced negative pressure mimicking situation during sleep. Similar finding with/without fluttering of the uvula/soft palate can be assessed by performing sleep induced sleep endoscopy (need controlled sedation). Polysomnography is needed for the objective measurement of parameters to categorized sleep apnea severity objectively.
