Due to a switch problem at Middle Village Metropolitan ave , and a signal problem at Forest ave , there was no M service between Myrtle ave Broadway and Metropolitan ave . As a result , some M trains terminated at Myrtle ave - Broadway and some ( a very few ) terminated at Broadway Junction . Manhattan bound M trains were running with heavily extensive delays so people had to take the J to essex and then take the M .
