The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects the Philippines to grow 6 percent this year. That may be lower than its previous estimates, but many still consider the growth strong.
But despite that, poverty levels in the country remain unchanged. Warren de Guzman reports that some businesses, including Rokcy Mountain Cafe, are now doing something to change that.
Pierre Yves Cote, the French-Canadian businessman behind Rocky Mountain Cafe, said farmers he has partnered with now earn P200,000 a year, compared to the paltry P5,000 they made when dealing with middlemen. Cote said he wants to invest more. -- ANC Market Edge, February 18, 2016
