We went by car from Sighnaghi, a town in Kakheti, to the monastery of David Gareji or David Gareja, right on the border woth Azerbaijan. Along the road we enjoyed the Kakheti landscapes and the commentaries from Vako from Nato and Lados hostel. We stopped at Manavi fortress and Chailuri fortress as well. In the way home, we stop at Vakos wineyard for a quick explanation on chacha distilling. Followed by a far from quick lunch which can best be described as an improvised supra-the feasts held during harvest in Kakheti.
