As families of the Boeing 737 Max 8 remember their loved ones a year after the Ethiopian Airlines crash, experts have again blamed design flaws for the disaster.
A hundred and fifty seven passengers and staff were killed shortly after the plane took off from Addis Ababa's Bole International Airport en route to Nairobi.
The crash followed a similar disaster in Indonesia in late 2018, when 189 people were killed after the takeoff of a Lion Air 737 from Jakarta.
Shortly after the Ethiopian Airlines crash Boeing said it was grounding its entire 737 fleet.
CGTN was joined by David Learmount of Flight International to discuss what more is known a year later about exactly how the malfunctions occurred.
