In the video, I show you in detail the process to decide which branches to keep and which to chop on a 33cm wild olive bonsai tree. I explain the choices for styling the bonsai tree, and demonstrate some well-established bonsai techniques to achieve the desired style.
I show you how to Guy-wire the branches in a tidy and secure way.
I introduce the concept of "Cascading guy wires" where one wired branch is then used to pull down the branch above it.

One CORRECTION: my 0.4mm copper wire is not 1/8 inch of course; it is in fact 1/64 inch copper wire, also called 26-Guage wire. My mental arithmetic failed me on this occasion!

The Wild Olive (Olea Sylvestris, or "oleaster") is is an evergeren broad-leaf tree that can take some serious pruning in late summer or early autumn, without damaging the health. It's a good time if there is still a month or two of sunlight for the tree to continue gaining its energy and growing roots before the winter months.
