During a press briefing Saturday afternoon, Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba’s chief provincial public health officer reported the province recorded an additional 12 cases of COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 194 in the province. The death toll remains unchanged at two.
Of those who have tested positive for COVID-19, 10 remain in hospital and of those individuals, six remain in intensive care.
Since the last provincial update, there have been an additional 576 tests completed, which brings the total number of tests in the province to 12,514.
Earlier on Friday, Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister announced new funding programs for Manitobans as part of the province's response to the spread of COVID-19. The funding includes a $100 million dollar procurement fund for medical supplies, arrangements for more hotel accommodations and hospital spaces for potential COVID-19 patients, tax relief and cash flow measures and $1.2 million dollars for shelters for the homeless.
