I personally find it rather difficult to make cadenzas in Finale and here I want to show you how to do it. Do note that this is how to make a MEASURED cadenza and there are other ways to do this.

For example, if you have a small cadenza which is in an odd number of beats like 17 quarter notes long, you can first go into the Time Signature Tool and create a 17/4 measure, fill the measure, and hide the time signature. In my case, it is a written out cadenza with an even number of beats.
