Hey folks! Today I made a pot of traditional split pea and ham bone soup :) Absolutely delicious, easy to make and amazing with a chunk of crusty bread & butter. Everything I used is listed below,

What I used -
1 Large ham hough/hock or ham bone
450g (2 cups) Split peas - rinsed
3 Large carrots - washed, peeled and diced
1 Large onion (or 2 smaller onions) peeled and diced
Herbs & seasoning of your choice, I used -
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon white pepper - use white pepper if you can, not black (it’s much nicer in this recipe)
2 Teaspoons rosemary & onion seasoning
2 Teaspoons Sage
(Adjust all seasonings to suit your own taste)
Enough boiling water to cover the ham bone
Oil for frying
