President Ruto has condemned the ongoing coup in Niger after reports indicated that President Mohamed Bazoum’s presidential guards are holding him in captivity in an attempt to seize power by force. Ruto says, that whatever happened in Niger was unconstitutional and a retrogressive way of subverting democratic gains made by the West African nation over the years. In his speech, President Ruto called for the immediate release of President Mohamed Bazoum.
