Does education count as work experience? In short, no. in the battle of experience vs. education, experience will win.

That is not to say that education isn't important, it is. BUT employers want to know that you can and have effectively implemented the knowledge that you've learned. In experience vs. education, you can have all the knowledge in the world but if you can't apply it to real life situations, it's useless. That's the dilemma with our newest generation of employees who are coming out of college with no work experience.

Yes, you may have a degree but if your resume has nothing to show in relation, you're out of luck.

To those in college, pick up a part time job, if not for the money, then for the experience. Don't try to enter the workforce unprepared because in the battle of experience vs. education, you'll lose.
