P&O Cruises Oceana holiday visit to the Madeira Monte Cable Car & Toboggan Ride. This is a video with footage of the whole ride down the hill, and pictures from the cable car going up. We did this in 2013 as part of a P&O Cruises holiday. We reasearched this before the cruise and decided not to book a cruise excursion, instead to do it ourselfs.
A short walk from where the P&O cruise shop docks and heading left, and you reach the cable car. Pay some euro's (single trip and up you go), at the top stop for coffee and visit the botanical gardens, and then get a Toboggan back down.
At the end of the Tobaggan ride, it's a 5km walk back to town or jump in a taxi.
