Jonathan Braker served with a provincial reconstruction team in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, 2008-2009. He was a member of the 33rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Battalion of the 178th Infantry Regiment, Illinois National Guard. Among other places, he served at Camp Wright and Outpost Bull Run. He shares memories of his tour in Afghanistan. Phillip Pannier (killed in Iraq) and Wesley Tingley (who served in Kunar Province and died after his return to the U.S.) are remembered.
