In today's video we cut through the hype to help you decide which of these MEGA tourist beach destinations actually have the best beaches, and when. We start in Playa del Carmen and hop on a local transport to show you how to get from Playa del Carmen, Mexico to Cancun, Mexico--about an hour apart. We show you how to do it cheaply. We visit the beaches on both "sides" of Cancun's famous Zona Hotelera (Hotel Zone) and talk about which beaches are better and for what reason.
Should you take your next trip to Playa del Carmen and stay in an Airbnb and walk to the beach and restaurants or stay in an all-inclusive hotel in Cancun and be waited on hand and foot :) The beaches do not look the same. Some are windy, some have more seaweed, and the different times of the year affect your decision. This video was shot in the spring/summertime. Seaweed/sargasso season had already started on and off.
