A 4 day vacation . The 3 of us with luggage to Port Angeles , Washington. We stopped to re - charge the Leaf every 60 miles or so, using the 480 volt fast chargers , which took only 20 mins to charge up to 80% capacity. The 240 volt chargers were much slower, and were used only to get us to a fast charge station. Having to stop and charge gave us the opportunity to see places we would have driven past had we been in a gas engine car. It cost us about $ 8.00 for electricity to charge the car, and it would have cost us about $ 85.00 in a gasoline powered car.
