In September 2024, Clerk of Works Gary Price, Joiner Richard Pike, and Conservator Arthur Needham braved the climb to the top of Salisbury Cathedral's famous Spire - 404ft above the ground - to change the four aircraft warning lights.
It takes an hour to climb to the top of the Spire, with another two hours at the top to change over the bulbs and check over other parts such as the copper strips which protect the cathedral from lightning strikes.
