This is episode 9 and last episode of our Lahaul & Spiti trip.
PLACES WE VISITED :
Kee Monastery : Overlooking Kaza from a height of about 13,500 ft, the Kye monastery is the largest in the valley and holds a powerful sway over the most populous part of the valley around Kaza. The gompa is an irregular heap of low rooms and narrow corridors on a monolithic conical hill. From a distance is resembles the Thiksey monastery near Leh in Ladakh. The irregular prayer chambers are interconnected by dark passages, tortuous staircases and small doors.
Kibber Village : Kyiber, commonly known as Kibber or Kibber Khas village, is a high altitude village in Spiti valley and acclaimed as the second highest motorable village in the world. The landscape of the village is captivating; it is surrounded by limestone rock mountains.
Chicham Bridge : Completed in 2017, the Chicham Bridge is India's highest road span crossing approximately 150 meters above a tributary of the River Spiti in the Himachal Pradesh region. Chicham Bridge is also touted as the "world's highest bridge" which is a partial truth as the deck is in fact located 13,596 feet / 4,145 meters above sea level even if the deck height is not the highest.
