Illikkal Kallu in Kottayam is a beautiful monolith made up of three hills, each towering over 4,000 ft. These hills have unique shapes, with one resembling a mushroom, known as Kuda Kallu (umbrella rock), and another with a hunchback shape, called Koonu Kallu. A narrow path called Narakapalam (bridge to hell) adds a touch of adventure.
The trekking trail featured is perfect for families and tourists, taking them through misty landscapes and vibrant greenery. During certain seasons, the hills are painted blue with the bloom of the rare Neela Koduveli flower. On clear days, the Arabian Sea is visible as a faint blue line on the horizon. Sunsets on full moon days are especially magical, with the moon rising as the sun sets.
