In this video we teach you how to wire a 2 stage thermostat for heating and cooling with the Nest Thermostat.

The Nest Gen 3 Thermostat is compatible with 2 stage heating and 2 stage cooling systems. A dual stage heating or cooling system provides staged heating or a high and low heating and cooling. Dual stage cooling or dual stage heating allows you to heat or cool your house faster when it has gotten to hot or too cold. When the temperature just needs to be maintained at a certain level first stage of heating or cooling will typically be used instead at a lower setting.

2 Stage HVAC systems combined with 2 stage thermostats like the Nest can be a great way to increase comfort and can be more energy efficient depending on the system.
