The Rolex Explorer II is currently being produced with reference 216570, but many still find its predecessor, the 16570, to be a viable choice. What sets these two watches apart? We'll explain in our 1 minute watch review.

Side by side comparison here at SwissWatchExpo. This is the Polar Explorer II, the one on the right is the original model. It's a 40 millimeter case. These both have a fixed tooth, a second timezone bezel that shows you the time in the full 24 hour scale in a home time zone, while the main clock face shows you the time in your current, wherever you happen to be. The 42 millimeter on the left has a few different aesthetic changes. It has larger lugs, larger crown guards, a larger crown, bigger dots for the hour indices. It has the bold orange GMT hand where the original model has a red GMT hand. These are both great choices for someone who wants to have something different. These don't look like the Rolexes that most people wear. Having the white dials is definitely a flair for the unusual compared to all the black dial Submariners and the various choices you get with Datejusts.
