Vlog Ep.58 - Week 48/52 - November - 2015
One of my favourite weird celebrations in Thailand has got to be the Monkey Buffet Festival in Lopburi.
Each year the locals gather at a temple which is also home to a huge amount of free roaming monkeys. They provide decorative food for the monkeys to feast on and, well, it's a whole lot of fun to see!

There wasn't much food this year (last year there were huge tables piled high with fruit, complete with fat monkeys gorging themselves) perhaps the monkeys are on a diet?

A short 3 hour train ride from Bangkok and we arrived in Lopburi ready for the festival. This year the banner said it was a 'monkey party' instead of a festival - we have no idea why it changed names.

Jade, being the fearless lady that she is, made friends with a whole bunch of monkeys and didn't seem to mind too much about them climbing all over her. She was the perfect entertainment not only for the monkeys but also for the tourists who hadn't quite plucked up the courage themselves!
