Delta blues is one of the earliest-known styles of blues. It originated in the Mississippi Delta, a region of the U.S. stretching from the upper northwest corner of Mississippi to Vicksburg, Mississippi, in the south and from the Mississippi River in the west to the Yazoo River in the east. Robert Johnson's slide guitar skill was considered unnatural and was said to have
sold his soul to the devil. Robert Johnson was killed by poison at the age of 27 and
is considered to be one of the greatest blues performers of all time.
