Ella S. Prihatini is a veteran journalist and in her last semester of Ph.D. at the University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth. She holds a BA in International Relations (University of Gadjah Mada/UGM, Yogyakarta) and Master of Development Practice (University of Queensland/UQ, Brisbane). Her research interests focus on electoral politics, comparative studies, gender, and Indonesia. She is affiliated with UWA Public Policy Institute (UWAPPI) and UWA Centre for Muslim States and Societies. Her study at UWA is fully supported by the Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship program (2015-2019). She has published her works in Women’s Studies International Forum and Contemporary Politics. She is also a regular contributor for The Conversation and SBS Radio Australia.
