Both of these indicate a terrible relationship with our own selves - we either develop low self esteem or we become totally shameless. Both do not lead to any change within us because both reactions come from a place of ego and shame. They do not come from a place of self-acceptance and empathy for those we hurt. Both indicate we are unable to accept ourselves unless we are totally perfect. We don't love ourselves with our imperfections.
