Creating a download button on Google Sites is a great way to allow users to access files directly from your website. In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps to add a button that links to a downloadable file.
First, open your Google Sites editor and navigate to the page where you want to add the download button. On the right-hand side, click on the “Insert” tab. Scroll down until you see the “Button” option and click on it.
A pop-up will appear where you can customize the button. First, name the button something relevant like “Download Here.” In the link field, you have several options. You can either link to a file from an external site or, more commonly, upload the file to Google Drive and share the file link.
To do this, upload your file to Google Drive, ensure the sharing settings allow anyone with the link to access it, and copy the shareable link. Paste that Google Drive link into the button’s link field.
Once everything is set, click “Insert” to add the button to your site. You can then drag the button to your preferred location on the page. After publishing the site, visitors will be able to click the button and download the file.
